ACLE is a non-profit association legally registered in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
The goal of ACLE consists to build a double platform : one for Chinese lawyers practicing in Europe to promote communication, to share resources and to make cooperation; the other for Chinese outbound investors to easily get access to outstanding Chinese lawyers in each country of Europe.

ACLE's main objects are as follows:
• To initiate, organize and promote, directly or indirectly, communication, cooperation, share of resources and exchange of information among Chinese lawyers working in Europe;
• To facilitate contact between its members and lawyers, law firms, body corporates, organizations and other entities in Greater China (including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) and in Europe;
• To initiate and publish studies, publications, and newsletters.;
• To organize and develop consulting, training and supporting services for its members;
• To organize meetings, conferences and seminars on legal issues in Greater China and in Europe;
• To promote legal research and legal education in Europe and Greater China; and,
• To represent its members, to protect and defend their rights and interests in any lawful matters, including, but not limited to, participation of important events, giving of collective opinions, action and defense in courts, on a worldwide level, and principally in Greater China and Europe;
Founded at the end of 2012, the Association for Chinese Lawyers in Europe (ACLE) was born out of a joint idea of six founding members practicing in Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, the UK and France in Brussels. In the context of the booming Chinese enterprises investing in European countries, ACLE is dedicated to providing support and a stage of expansion for Chinese lawyers and legal practitioners in Europe in terms of business development, career progression and information sharing through a common platform and community, and to provide better services to Chinese enterprises investing overseas in Europe.
From its modest beginnings, the European Association of Chinese Lawyers has continued to grow, thanks to the efforts of all its members and the support of its partners.

On December 3, 2014, the Association held its annual meeting in Luxembourg to elect the members of its second Board of Directors and held a seminar on the theme "Investing in Europe – Are you Ready? ” seminar.

The association developed its membership to more than 20 people, covering Germany, France, Italy, UK, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, etc. The association also received sponsorship from several European partner professional organizations.
In July 2015, the Association organized a seminar on the theme "Investing in Europe" in Lisbon, Portugal.
In 2015, the Association conducted exchange visits with local Chinese law firms and law associations in a number of places, including Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, in order to enhance the interaction and communication between members of the Association and the Chinese legal professions.
Annual Meeting on December 5, 2015: Seminar on "Legal Aspects of Chinese Investment in Europe" organized within the Paris Bar Association.
Local members, including lawyers Hu Xinyu, Zhong Hua and Zhu Xiaoyang, undertook the organization work.
On December 9, 2016, the Association held its annual meeting in Milan, elected its third Board of Directors and held a seminar on "Chinese Investments in Europe and Legal Security”

In March 2017, the association organized and participated in large business events for its members in Henan, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Beijing, and held a roadshow for European investment projects.
On August 25-27, 2017, the Association held a seminar on "EU Data Protection" in Copenhagen, Denmark, with local members, attorneys Cao Yu and Zhang Ke undertaking the organization.
From November 6-14, 2017, we organized road shows for our members in Shenzhen, Taiyuan, Qingdao and Tianjin, and had business exchanges with many Chinese law firms.
On April 30, 2018, the Association held its annual meeting in Frankfurt with a seminar on the theme of "National Security Review System for Foreign M&A
In August 2018, the Association organized a seminar and training on the topic of "M&A Project Management" in Stockholm, Sweden, which was organized by local member Mr. Gu Qun.
From September 6-16, 2018, members were organized to co-organize and attend large conferences and visit fellow lawyers in Taiyuan, Xiamen, Liuzhou, Qingdao, Shaanxi, and other places.
The association has close to 50 members.

In January 2019, members of the Association's Board of Directors visited Ningbo Bar Association and signed a cooperation agreement. The Association signed a letter of intent to cooperate with Jilin Lawyers Association in the same year.

The membership of the Association was further expanded by the application of Chinese lawyers practicing in Austria, the Czech Republic, the Balkans and other Eastern European countries, as well as in Finland.

In September 2019, the Association will hold its annual meeting in Vienna, Orly, and a seminar on the theme of "Sino-European Cooperation in Arbitration".
Local member Alice Meissner, Attorney at Law, undertook the project.
In March 2020, the outbreak of the new crown outbreak in Wuhan
Members and the association donated enthusiastically, and through cooperation with the European Wuhan Alumni Association, donated medical supplies such as masks and protective clothing to major hospitals in Wuhan.
A networking session for new and existing members of the association in June 2020.
In July 2020, the Association organized a networking session on "Career Planning and Development for Members".
In October 2020, a photography contest for members of the association will be held.
The number of members is close to 80, covering Germany, France, Italy, UK, Luxembourg, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Finland, Austria, Czech Republic and other countries.
On December 17, 2020, the association held its annual network meeting to elect the fifth board members and invited well-known Chinese lawyers in France to share their experiences of political participation and rights defense.

On December 17, 2020, well-known French Chinese lawyers, Mr. Wang Lijie and Mr. Lin Xiuwu, shared their experience in political participation and rights defense by Chinese originated citizens.
